Dog Agility Foundations 1 & 2

This introductory course is designed for dogs and handlers who are new to the sport of agility. The focus is on building strong communication skills, confidence, and teamwork through the introduction of foundational agility skills. This class emphasizes proper handling techniques, motivation, and control while laying the groundwork for future agility training. Handlers will learn how to guide their dogs through basic obstacles such as tunnels, jumps, and low-impact equipment in a safe and supportive environment. Dogs should have basic obedience skills and be comfortable working around other dogs off leash. Perfect for anyone who is considering competing in agility. This is a combined class: dogs who have completed Agility Foundations 1 but still need some foundational work may continue to take the same class at Level 2 with more challenges added. Instructor Approval is required before continuing on to Agility Beginning Sequencing.

🕒 4-week course • Limit 4 dogs • For dogs 9 months and older • Cost: $160

Agility Beginning Sequencing

Agility sequencing takes all of the basic skills you learned in Foundations 1 & 2 and starts applying them to real-world agility challenges.

In this class, you’ll begin course running! Short sequences of 5 - 8 numbered obstacles that will assist you with course memorization, understanding the dog’s line, and build confidence (confidence = speed in agility). We will work on verbal cues, timing, and creating distance to help your dog think and work independently.

To enroll, dogs should have completed Agility Foundations 1 & 2 and be comfortable working around other dogs or you may get instructor approval to join.

Sniffy Games / Find It

Looking for a fun, low-impact activity for your dog? Sniffy games are a great option for dogs of all ages and abilities. They are easy to do at home, take very little setup, and are perfect for hot, cold, or rainy days. Best of all, sniffing helps tire dogs out, build confidence, and encourage focus.

In this class, you’ll learn simple food-based sniffy games, how to introduce target odors, and how to adjust each activity to match your dog’s skill level. You’ll leave with easy exercises you can practice at home and can continue with future classes focused on indoor or outdoor sniffy games.

What to bring: 6-foot leash, optional harness, lots of small non-crumbly high-value treats, and if needed, a mat, bed, blanket, or collapsible crate for settling between turns.
